Example Study Visit

9:00 am Arrival & Consent
A study team member will meet you in the front lobby and escort you to a visit room. They will guide you through the informed consent process and other necessary paperwork.

9:30 am Blood Draw
You will be taken to a blood draw station where a phlebotomist will draw your blood. You may be asked to fast for 12 hours beforehand. You are encouraged to bring something to eat after the blood draw. Small snacks will be available.

10:00 am MRI & Physical Measurements
You will be asked to undergo an MRI of your brain. The MRI lasts approximately 60 minutes. You will have the option to listen to music during most of the scan. Your physical measurements will also be taken. This includes height, weight, head, hip, and waist circumference, as well as blood pressure.

12:00 pm Lunch Break
If you are completing all study tasks in one visit, we will provide a Subway lunch for you. You also have the option to bring your own food. A refrigerator and microwave are available for your use.

12:30 pm Cognitive & Motor Testing
A study team member will guide you through several cognitive tasks. These tasks will look at things such as memory, vocabulary, logic, and reasoning. The motor tasks will include balance, walking, and grip strength.

4:30 pm Questionnaires
You will be shown a tablet with several questionnaires. The study team member will stay with you in case you have any questions or need clarification of what the questionnaires are asking.
